Additional Oklahoma Economic Nexus Bill Introduced

An economic nexus sales tax bill has been introduced in the Oklahoma Senate. The bill contains almost all the provisions contained in economic nexus legislation introduced in the House. (TAXDAY, 2019/01/30, S.14; TAXDAY, 2019/02/11, S.17)

As currently drafted, the Senate bill differs from the House bills in that it would:

– take effect on November 1, 2019, rather than July 1, 2019; and

– require remote sellers with at least $100,000 in Oklahoma sales in a calendar year to collect tax the first calendar month after the month they meet the $100,000 threshold (as opposed to the next fiscal year).

S.B. 513, as introduced in the Oklahoma Senate on February 4, 2019
