Colorado Announces Local Sales and Use Tax Rate Changes

The Colorado Department of Revenue has announced local sales and use tax rate changes that are effective January 1, 2019.

State-Collected City Sales and Use Tax Changes

The following state-collected city tax changes have been announced:

– Berthoud, sales and use tax rate 4%.

– Fleming, sales and use tax rate 2%.

– Georgetown, sales tax rate 4.5%, use tax rate 3.5%.

– Manitou, sales tax rate 3.6%, use tax rate 3.5%.

– Minturn, sales and use tax rate 4%.

State-Collected County Sales and Use Tax Changes

The following state-collected county tax changes have been announced:

– Boulder, sales and use tax rate 0.985%.

– Chaffee, sales tax rate 2.75%.

– Douglas, sales tax exemptions added for:

– Low emitting vehicles;

– Biogas production system components;

– Property used in space flight;

– Machinery or machine tools used for processing certain recovered materials; and

– Sales on retail marijuana and retail marijuana products.

– Larimer, sales and use tax rate 0.80%.

– Logan, sales and use tax rate 1%.

– Park, sales tax rate 1%.

– Saguache, sales tax rate 2.5%.

– Sedgwick, sales tax exemptions removed for:

– Food for home consumption;

– Machinery and machine tools; and

– Food sold through vending machines.

State-Collected Special District Tax Changes

The following state-collected special district tax changes have been announced:

– Conifer Metropolitan District Tax rate 0.75%.

– Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District Tax rate 1%.

– Sedgwick County Lodging District Tax rate 2%.

Self-Collected City Tax Changes

The following self-collected tax changes have been announced:

– Blawk Hawk, sales and use tax rate 6%.

– Central City, sales and use tax rate 6%.

– Denver, sales tax rate 4.31%.
