Nevada Sets Economic Nexus Thresholds

Nevada sales and use tax economic thresholds are set. But, the Department of Taxation has not yet determined the date that it will begin to enforce the new rule. The Department will decide on and announce the enforcement date at some point in the future.

Economic Nexus Thresholds

A remote seller has economic nexus if during the current or prior calendar year:

– gross revenue from sales of property or services into Nevada is more than $100,000; or

– property or services are sold into Maryland 200 or more times.

Once enforced, remote sellers must begin collecting on the first day of the first month that begins at least 30 days after the threshold is met.

LCB File No. R189-18, Nevada Department of Taxation, effective September 21, 2018, and applicable as noted above
