Governor Wants Tax Vote in Florida Constitution

Florida Gov. Rick Scott reiterated proposals to cut taxes in his final 2018 State-of-the-State (SOS) address. In addition, the governor proposed a constitutional amendment that would make it harder to raise taxes. Specifically, the amendment would require two-thirds of the legislature to vote on a tax increase for it to become law.

Prepared text of the SOS address is available on the governor’s website at https://www.flgov.com/2018/01/09/governor-rick-scotts-2018-state-of-the-state-address/.
