Maryland ~ Personal Income Tax: Mailing of Estimated Personal Income Tax Packet Discontinued for Security Reason

The Comptroller’s Office of Maryland has issued a tax alert informing taxpayers that it has discontinued mailing of the estimated personal income tax packet in order to protect sensitive taxpayer information. The mailing included four vouchers preprinted with personal information, including social security numbers (SSNs), and was used for submitting estimated income tax payments. Taxpayers can now file their personal estimated income tax using the electronic filing system, iFile, at; by printing Personal Declaration of Estimated Income Tax, Form 502D, available, and mailing the complete form, including SSN and check; or by contacting Taxpayer Service Section for Estimated Income Tax Payment Voucher, Form 502DEP. The Taxpayer Service Section is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm at 410-260-7980 from central Maryland or 1-800-638-2937 from elsewhere. Taxpayers using a software product that currently supports Form 502DEP may continue to do so.
