CCH Tax Day Report

A proposal to repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) (P.L. 111-148) was introduced in the House. The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) issued a report about the premium assistance tax credit. The IRS posted statistics about the filing season.

Filing Season. The IRS posted statistics about the filing season on its website (TAXDAY, 2017/03/10, I.2).

Over/Under Payment Interest Rates. The IRS announced the overpayment and underpayment interest rates for the second quarter of 2017 (IR-2017-53; Rev. Rul. 2017-6, I.R.B. 2017-12; TAXDAY, 2017/03/08, I.1).

Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. The IRS released its annual report on its Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program (IR-2017-56; TAXDAY, 2017/03/10, I.4).

Foreign Travel Per Diem. Maximum per diem rate allowances for travel in foreign areas have been released for the month of March (TAXDAY, 2017/03/08, I.2).

ETAAC. The IRS requested nominations for individuals to serve on ETAAC (IR-2017-57; TAXDAY, 2017/03/13, I.2).
