CCH Tax Day Report

In his 2017 State-of-the-State (SOS) address, Wyoming Gov. Matthew H. Mead made one sales and use tax recommendation and called for a “fair tax structure.” In relation to economic diversification efforts initiated in the state in 2016, the governor noted that “[a]s we diversify our industries, we must look at how we tax our industries. Diversification and a broad-based fair tax structure are required to stabilize our economy, our revenue.” Until the state gets that more comprehensive tax structure, the governor asked the Legislature to consider continuing the manufacturing tax exemption, which is sunsetting.
