In his State of the State address, Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman announced that he would have legislation introduced to eliminate the corporate and individual income tax by reducing many business sales tax exemptions. His proposal would also eliminate the taxation of Social Security income, military retirement income, and small business income. The governor emphasized, however, that his proposal would not include the taxation of food.
