Oklahoma ~ Sales and Use Tax: Legislation Creates Sales Tax Task Force

Oklahoma legislation creates the Task Force on the Collection, Distribution and Enforcement of Municipal Sales Tax. This 11-member task force will examine the current processes of the Oklahoma Tax Commission with regard to the assessment, collection, and distribution of local sales and use taxes to jurisdictions that levy these taxes. The task force will consider applicable laws and rules, the commission’s budget and personnel resources, possible improvements to efficiency, and the possible use of private sector entities to improve collection and audit functions. The task force will deliver a final report of recommendations by January 31, 2012, and disband on February 1, 2012.
